Why these pages earn their place
Shipping and returns pages get read at two tense moments: just before someone pays, and when something goes wrong. If the answer is there, the order goes through or the problem gets solved without you. If it isn't, you get the email, often with a sharper tone than the question deserves. These pages are short, but they carry a lot of weight in a small shop.
What the shipping page covers
| Section | Answers |
|---|---|
| Handling time | How long before an order leaves you, and how made-to-order items differ |
| Rates and zones | What shipping costs, where you ship, and any free shipping threshold |
| Carriers and tracking | Who carries the parcel and where the tracking link arrives |
| Local pickup or delivery | Hours, where to collect, and what to bring |
| Special handling | Fragile, heavy, heat-sensitive or perishable goods |
| Lost or damaged parcels | What to do, what photos to send and how fast you reply |
Returns and exchanges
A returns page needs four things: the window, what can come back, how to start, and who pays for return shipping. Exchanges get their own short section, since a size swap on apparel is a different job from a refund. We write the page from the rules you choose, add a clear start-a-return path and link it from every product page and the order emails.
Order and shipping emails
Most platforms send stock emails that sound like a bank. We rewrite the order confirmation, the shipping notice, the delivery note and the refund email so they match your shop and answer the obvious next question. A made-to-order email says when work starts. A pre-order email gives the expected ship week.
Holiday cutoffs and delays
Every shop has weeks when parcels slow down: holiday rushes, weather, a market weekend when nobody is packing. We set up a notice bar and a short section on the shipping page that you can switch on and edit in a minute, so the warning goes up before the questions start.
A note on legal wording
We write for clarity, from your decisions. We aren't lawyers and don't give legal advice. Consumer rules on returns, refunds, food and shipping differ by state and by country, so if you sell outside your own state or abroad, have someone qualified read the final pages.
Questions
I don't have a returns policy yet. Can you help me decide one?
We can walk you through the choices other small shops weigh, such as window length, condition of returned items and exchanges versus refunds. The decisions stay yours.
Can you add these pages to a shop someone else built?
Yes. Policy pages and emails can be added to almost any shop platform without touching the rest of the store.
